Andersen 200 Series Patio Door Installation Manual
This manual provides instructions for installing Andersen 200 Series patio doors. Please read and understand all instructions before beginning the installation. If you have any questions, please contact Andersen customer service at 1-800-426-4261.
Tools and Materials Required
The following tools and materials are required for installation:
- Phillips screwdriver
- Flathead screwdriver
- Level
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Caulk gun
- Caulk
- Shims
- Flashing tape
Preparing the Opening
1. Remove the old door and frame, if necessary.
2. Check the opening to make sure it is square and level. If the opening is not square or level, you will need to make adjustments before installing the new door.
3. Install the nailing flange on the exterior of the opening. The nailing flange should be flush with the exterior surface of the wall.
Installing the Door
1. Place the door in the opening and align it with the nailing flange. Make sure that the door is level and square.
2. Secure the door to the nailing flange with screws. Start by driving screws into the corners of the door, and then add screws along the top and bottom of the door.
3. Install the brick mold around the exterior of the door. The brick mold should overlap the nailing flange by about 1/2 inch.
4. Caulk the joints between the door, the brick mold, and the wall.
Installing the Hardware
1. Install the handle on the inside of the door.
2. Install the deadbolt and strike plate on the inside and outside of the door.
3. Install the lockset on the inside of the door.
Finishing the Installation
1. Install the weatherstripping around the door. The weatherstripping should form a tight seal between the door and the frame.
2. Install the interior trim around the door. The trim should overlap the weatherstripping by about 1/2 inch.
3. Caulk the joints between the trim and the wall.
Your Andersen 200 Series patio door is now installed and ready to use.
