Concrete Base For Patio Umbrella

Materials:

1 bag of concrete mix
1 bucket of water
A mixing bowl or wheelbarrow
A shovel or hoe
A trowel
A piece of cardboard or plastic
A level
A patio umbrella pole

Instructions:

Choose a location for your patio umbrella base. The location should be level and have good drainage. Once you have chosen a location, mark it with a piece of cardboard or plastic.
Dig a hole in the location you marked. The hole should be about 12 inches deep and 12 inches wide. The depth of the hole will depend on the size of your patio umbrella pole. Make sure that the hole is deep enough to fit the pole plus about 6 inches of concrete.
Fill the hole with concrete. You can use a pre-mixed concrete mix or you can mix your own. If you are mixing your own concrete, follow the instructions on the bag. Once the hole is filled with concrete, smooth it out with a trowel.
Place the patio umbrella pole in the hole. Make sure that the pole is centered in the hole and that it is level. Once the pole is in place, hold it down until the concrete has set.
