Patio Chair Sling Fabric Replacement

Patio furniture is designed to withstand the elements, but even the most durable materials will eventually show signs of wear and tear. If the sling fabric on your patio chairs has become faded, torn, or uncomfortable, you can replace it yourself with a few simple steps.

Step 1: Gather your materials.

New sling fabric
Scissors
Staple gun
Staples
Measuring tape
Pencil or fabric marker

Step 2: Prepare the new fabric.

Measure the width and length of the area you need to cover. Cut the new fabric to size, leaving a few inches extra on all sides for stapling.

Step 3: Remove the old fabric.

Unhook the old fabric from the chair frame. If the fabric is stapled in place, carefully remove the staples using a staple remover. Be careful not to damage the chair frame.

Step 4: Center the new fabric.

Place the new fabric over the chair frame and center it. Pull the fabric taut and secure it with a few staples in the center of each side.

Step 5: Staple the fabric in place.

Starting in the center, staple the fabric around the perimeter of the chair frame. Work your way around the chair, stapling the fabric every few inches. Make sure the fabric is pulled taut and that there are no wrinkles.

Step 6: Trim the excess fabric.

Once the fabric is stapled in place, trim any excess fabric around the edges. You can use scissors or a utility knife to do this.

Step 7: Reattach the hardware.

If the old fabric was attached to the chair frame with hardware, such as hooks or bolts, reattach the hardware to the new fabric.

Your patio chair is now ready to enjoy with its new sling fabric. With proper care and maintenance, your chair will last for many years to come.
